To All Students of Education, especially Year 2

From Anna Csaki, English Language Teacher/Professor

Dear Students,

I would like to invite you to come to the Lettorato or “Corso Base” this year and explain why this is important. The course is annual and, in the 1st semester, will be on Wednesday mornings from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., starting on 9 October.

The course is for all students and, in particular, 2nd-year students (because you have no English exam this year but next year will). It offers the opportunity to practice and develop listening and speaking skills especially, but also reading and writing skills (and grammar whenever necessary). The level is intermediate, from low to high (but if you are a near beginner, please come in any case). A basic outline of the Lettorato (or Corso Base) is as follows:

Practice from online sources and practice exams.

Small group + pair work to improve skills and prepare for the exam.

Focus on language structure and form, pronunciation and intonation.

Emails, letters, paragraphs, notes, memos.

I cannot stress enough that a language is acquired through using and studying it regularly. This is an opportunity to do both.

Hope to see you soon.

Your English Language Teacher/Professor
